National accolade for Michelmores family lawyer

Michelmores partner Vanessa Priddis has been recognized as the Family Solicitor of the Year in the inaugural Family Law Awards announced at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane in London on 18 October.

Vanessa is the first Family Solicitor of the Year.

Michelmores partner Vanessa Priddis has been recognized as the Family Solicitor of the Year in the inaugural Family Law Awards announced at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane in London on 18 October.

The awards are designed to provide encouragement to family lawyers at a time when many of them face severe cuts to legal aid funding, increased competition and huge changes to practice procedures.

The judging panel was made up of the heads of the three family law practitioners' associations, the Family Law Bar Association, Resolution and the Association of Lawyers for Children, along with Family Law editors and publishing executives.

The team of 13 family lawyers at Michelmores was also shortlisted for Family Law Team of the Year.

Simon Thomas who leads the Family team at Michelmores said: “This is wonderful and very well deserved recognition for Vanessa who is not only an accomplished and expert family lawyer but one whose dedication goes well above and beyond what you would expect from someone specialising in this challenging and sensitive sector.
