Michelmores adopt Families for Children charity

Staff at Michelmores Solicitors have voted for adoption charity ‘Families for Children’ as the firm’s Charity of the Year and the recipient of the bulk of its considerable fund-raising efforts.

Devon based Families for Children is a voluntary adoption agency operating throughout the South West with the objective of ensuring that children who are unable to grow up within their family of origin are found loving adoptive families and are given ongoing support in their new family environment.

Michelmores has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for local good causes over many years and expects its Charity of the Year to benefit  from around £30,000 through the firm’s annual Charity Road Race and a wide variety of other events staged throughout the year.

Michelmores partner and Head of the Family team, Simon Thomas, said: “The firm is very proud of its charitable giving record and we always aim to go that extra mile in our fund-raising efforts.

“We were especially delighted to announce Families for Children as our Charity of the Year when it coincided with National Adoption Week, an important event that the Family Team works hard to promote.”

Charities that have preciously benefited by being Michelmores Charity of the year include Devon Air Ambulance Trust, Exeter Leukemia Fund, Hospiscare and CLIC Sargent.
