Lawyers donate presents for abused families

The Family Law Service at Michelmores Solicitors has donated a variety of Christmas items for families fleeing from Domestic Abuse this Christmas.

Some of the victims leave the family home with their children and the clothes they are wearing. To support them Michelmores staff throughout the firm have donated items ranging from second hand and new children's toys, gifts for women including toiletries and jewellery to Christmas decorations for anyone who has recently been rehoused and oven £200 in gift vouchers to enable the mothers to go out and buy a gift of their choice for their children at Christmas.
 
Michelmores associate in the Family Law team, Rachel Cook, said: "The gifts with be distributed through SAFE - Stop Abuse for Everyone (formerly Exeter Women's Aid) and DVAS - Domestic Violence and Abuse Service for South and West Devon.

"We offer free monthly legal surgeries with both organisations and we are keen to do all that can to support these vulnerable families at this special time of the year."
