Rachel Cook, an Associate at Michelmores LLP, will be teaching Childcare Law to undergraduate students as part of the university's Family Law course and Legal Studies degree.
Rachel's experience includes complex residence and contact disputes, care proceedings and adoption. She also has a strong interest in fertility law, surrogacy, assisted reproduction and the impact of these laws for same sex couples. She is the Legal Advisor to a large Adoption Agency and is also a Committee member of the National British Association Adoption and Fostering (BAAF) Legal Group Advisory Committee. Rachel is a member of the Law Society Children's Panel and the Association of Lawyers for Children.
She said:
The Childcare Law option has never been taught at Plymouth before so this is an exciting opportunity for me. It allows me to design the content of the lectures and workshops.
It is also an important opportunity to forge strong links with students who are attracted to working in family law.
